How do I get Featured?
Featured is a curation decision, not an application anyone can submit and get approved automatically. We select businesses, Creators, items, and experiences that make the Metro better. Request to be Featured above, or email us — we'll follow up if it's a fit.
What exactly is "an item on the list"?
We write a short, compelling experience description tied to your business — something like "Try the off-menu secret burger at Joe's" or "Order the house old fashioned at the bar with no sign." It appears in the CheckOff app for users in your neighborhood and shows up in their Nearby feed and curated lists.
What's a "secret item"?
Premier-plan businesses can unlock a secret experience — it shows as "🔒 Secret item" in the app until the user's GPS confirms they're physically at your location. Then it reveals a hidden menu item, a discount, or an insider tip. It's a powerful reason to make the trip.
Is category exclusivity included with Featured?
No. Category exclusivity is available on Professional and Premier plans only. Featured is never eligible for exclusivity, regardless of how early a business is curated.
How does placement work?
CheckOff sorts nearby items into rings: Core (your neighborhood), Near (easy drive), Metro (worth the trip), and Destination. Professional and Premier are eligible for wider visibility across the metro area — Featured has no guarantee of premium placement.
Do I need to mail you anything to display the QR assets?
No. We send digital files by email or through your onboarding page — you print the counter card locally and use your own stand or holder. We may hand-deliver decals or physical materials selectively, but there's no mail-order kit required to get started.
Can I cancel Professional or Premier anytime?
Yes. Monthly plans cancel with no penalty. Annual plans are non-refundable after 30 days, but we'll honor the term through your paid period.
